"Court grants Weekly's SLAPP motion; Courier to pay legal fees" In its Dec.13 edition, the Courier fla- grantly and deceptively reported the Superior Court's decision in the Courier's case against the Beverly Hills Weekly (LASC BC509955). Instead of reporting that the Court struck down two of the three causes of action alleged by the Courier, it deceptively reported that the Court found that the Weekly's publishing practices were "Unfair." Fair reporting would have required the Courier to report only, that in a preliminary hearing the Court found that there was sufficient evidence presented to ats ta permit the Courier to attempt to prove its case against the Weekly, when and if, the case ever went to trial. If that were not bad enough, the Courier concealed from its readers that the Court found that the Courier lost, not won, its motion to strike because the Court iordered the Courier to pay the Weekly's attorneys fees; the Court found that the Courier was entitled to nothing! ! !
