Former Beverly Hills residents Sissy and Bemle Taran were here to attend the bat mitzvah of Shelby Hiles last weekend, and while they were here, they naturally had to eat. They were joined by their friends Char- Iotte and Michael Schwartz at CaJifomia Sun Dried Tomato, a wonderful little bistro in the Rodeo Collection. And the next day, on their way back to Santa Barbara, Sissy stopped at The Nosh to pick up some bagels to go because Sissy says that you just can't get good bagels in Santa Barbara. Engaging News: Paula and Ronnie Kirsh toasted the engagement of their daugh- ter Shawn to Todd Auslander at The Bistro Garden. Todd's sister Kimberly was also on hand to celebrate this exciting news. Birthday Greetings: Lain/ Koplin was joined by 25 friends, his wife JoAnn and chil- dren Lauren, Sarah and Alex as he celebrat- ed his birthday at Waiter's last Sunday morn- ing. Nancy and Eli Blumenfeld, Susie and Jeff Wallach, Judy Albert, Betty Harris, Josh Gross, Jack Cohen, and Roxie and Lyle Gerber (he's the head of maintenance for the Beverly Hills School District) were there, as well as some of the new friends that JoAnn and Larry met when they joined the D.C.S., a new ham radio support group for the police department which will help in case of an earthquake or other emergency. And...Roslyn Millet was treated to an elegant birthday lunch at Panagea in the Hotel Nikko by her husband Winston. Roslyn said that the presentation was beautiful and the price was right: $19.94! Out Of Town: Barbara Mizrahi traveled to North Miami Beach to have dinner with Ann g at Prezzo. Barbara said that she loved the Italian ambiance and the food was devine.
