For those people who have difficulty accepting progress in our city, I believe that some residents may have forgotten the Ralph's Supermarket that stood on the cor- ner of Crescent and Wilshire. We need a full size and full service market back in Beverly Hills! Lauren Winik Schreiber Beverly Hills Thanks for being the only publication that's covering this issue!! I work for CBS and have worked at the L.A. Times and was lucky enough to be one of the originators of the L.A. Weekly. I am proud to have lived in the Los Angeles area for 24 years, I have lived and enjoyed the quality of life in Beverly Hills for the past 3 years. I am a renter who is happy to pay a premium to reside on N. Crescent Drive, I shop at the Whole Foods Market and the Beverly Hills Market (both within one block of where I live). I also shop at the new Bristol Farms on Beverly and the Ra|ph's across the street (Beverly and Doheny). I also occasionally shop at the Bristol Farms on Santa Monica and Beverly Glen and the Ralph's in the Century City Shopping Center. I also occa- sionally shop at the Pavillions at Santa Monica (between Doheny and San Vicente). That is a total of SEVEN quality Food and Produce Markets within less than 3 miles from where I live. We do not need another market on North Crescent Drive - let alone in this areal When will someone on our Beverly Hills city council wake up and not smell the bacon! Feel free to contact me, [ will be happy to speak at length about this unneces- sary waste of time, energy and money. I love Beverly Hills. We don't need another Food Market.
