3"- FASHION STILE]'ros ARE BACK ON THE SCENE Shoes...the most important accessory for an outfit? Definitely. A new pair of shoes is needed in everyone's closet this season because the stiletto is back for another round in the fashion arena. For the past few seasons we have gotten used to, and enjoyed the clunky heels and heavy looking shoes. The trend for this season's shoe. is totally the opposite. This season shoe designers are focusing on thin tall heels with ton of straps. Nearly every designer, such as Mui Mui, Prada, and DKNY, has come up with their own rendition of what they believe the millennium's stilet- to should look like. Manolo Blahnik is showing quite unique and stylin' stilettos with tons of straps and various colors. From gold and silver to any other primary color that suits your fancy. Helmet Lang, another high-end designer, is scheduled to bc coming out with a shoe line any day now. Lang's line of shoes is again showing the tall, thin heels as opposed to the chunky heavy looking trend. The shoes are colorful, with lots of wooden heals, accessorized with feath- ers and su-aps. Other designers that have been seen throughout this month's maga- zines are also showing heels with straps that tie half-way up the leg. This style creates the illusion of longer legs and is a definite must in my book. Yes, these heels are a pain to walk in (literally), but when one wants to be in with the season's trend the pain can be overlooked. The great thing about this up and coming stiletto look is that these shoes can be worn with just about anything. Granted you are not going to wear a pair of heels with straps on an everyday basis. Nightiime is the right time for this great looking fad. Heels are being seen with skirts, dresses and even jeans. A casual outfit can be dressed up easily with the right pair of heels. Boots are also another essential when one is striving for the perfect wardrobe. I know that you are probably thinking that the weather is warming up and boots are not necessary anymore, well you are wrong, everyone needs a great pair of boom to spice up their life. The perfect boot for this season and other seasons coming up will again be leaving the chunky look behind and replacing it with either a wedge heel, a stiletto. or something in between. So leave your clunky old plattorms and boots in the closet and invest in a pair of strappy heals or sexy feminine boots, and feel great about your- self in a whole new look. -- Jennifer Rebbert SPEECH PATHOLOGIST Eva/llatiox fJlcr'aPSl or" articxlat;oM, |am9ua9e development and vole disorder3., oH;c.
